Our Lenten fast is nearing an end, and these days of abstinence and prayer are meant in part to unite us with the sacrifice that Jesus made for us. Maybe we have not been attentive to others and have “fasted” from not listening, or maybe we chose to fast from a favorite treat, but the practice of fasting during this time has little meaning if we do not reflect on what we have learned from the experience. Our Religious Education families have had an opportunity to fast from various treats and then to in turn “Give It Up For Gulu” and also to participate in Operation Rice Bowl. These gifts will be collected this weekend for our Sunday classes and on April 12th for our Wednesday classes. If you forgot to bring your Lenten donations today, you may drop them off on Wednesday evening or at the office. Thank you for your sacrifices. They will be used to help others around the world and in our own area.
