First Eucharist is celebrated after a two year preparation period. Students who attended either religious education classes or parochial school in the first grade celebrate their First Eucharist in the second grade. Other students celebrate their sacrament at the end of their second year in class, whatever grade they are in. We welcome you and your children into our program!
With the understanding that "families are of primary importance as centers of living, radiant, faith" (
Catechism of the Catholic Church 1656), parents play an essential role in the preparation of their children for the sacrament of Eucharist. We help you to do this with parent enrichment meetings, family activities, and a Saturday family retreat. A schedule of these activities for the spring of 2016 is posted below:

First Eucharist Mass |
All First Communicants, along with other children of the parish, are invited to participate in our May Procession following the 10:30am Mass on Sunday, May 14.
An important note:
All sacraments take place at the parish to which the family belongs. If your child is attending another Catholic school but you are still a member of St. Catherine of Siena parish, your child will make his or her First Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation here with your parish family at St. Catherine’s. Preparation (parent meetings, retreats, etc.) for these sacraments will take place at St. Catherine’s.10:30
